President Obama making stops in Missouri and Illinois Wednesday

Pres. Obama wipes away tears as he talks about CT school shooting victims

(KTVI) ? President Obama will visit Illinois and Missouri Wednesday, refocusing national attention on the economy.

His first stop is Knox College in Galesburg, IL.? There, the former Maytag plant remains empty after it closed nearly 10 years ago.? But even after all this time, those lost jobs are still a major concern for the community.

From there, President Obama will travel to Warrensburg, Missouri for a speech at the University of Central Missouri.? Some businesses in the town were sprucing up their stores in advance of the President?s arrival.

Many people there are excited about the visit.? ?I?ve been in the military myself for 20 years and never have ever had the opportunity to see a president in my life so I think it?s extremely exciting,? said Kitty Sandberg.

But not everyone will be as welcoming.? Among the expected protesters, a group opposed to the Keystone X-L Pipeline project.

The President?s speech is open to the public. Tickets were distributed Tuesday through the University of Central Missouri.? FOX 2 will have live coverage at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
